Nagpur: In a major action under Operation Shakti, Nagpur Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch (SSB) busted a sex racket at Hudkeshwar and rescued a woman victim. The raid took place on September 3 following reliable inputs received by the patrolling team.
Police raided Plot No. 22A, Vinayak Nagar, Shivaji Society, Hudkeshwar, where the accused, identified as Laxmi Harish Hatwar (48), was allegedly running prostitution activities for financial gain by arranging customers and exploiting women.
During the raid, one victimized woman was rescued. Police also seized cash of ₹1,500, a mobile phone, and other material, collectively worth ₹23,530, from the accused.
A case has been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station under Section 143(2) BNS along with Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA). The accused has been handed over to Hudkeshwar police for further investigation.
This action was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional CP Navinchandra Reddy, ACP Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Rahul Makanikar, and ACP Abhijit Patil. The team included PI Rahul Shire, API Shivaji Nannaware, and other officials.
