Nagpur: In a major breakthrough under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive Operation Thunder, the MIDC Police Station’s investigation team has arrested two notorious MD (mephedrone) drug traffickers and seized contraband and valuables worth over ₹53.70 lakh.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Nagpur Police Commissioner as part of a citywide campaign to curb drug trafficking. Acting on specific intelligence, the MIDC police team received credible information on December 23, 2025, around 3.05 pm, that two individuals were preparing to sell banned MD powder at an open location near Sangam Road on the Wanadongri side.

Following due legal procedures, the police team, along with two panch witnesses, conducted a raid at the identified spot using a private vehicle. During the operation, two suspects were apprehended and identified as Ramswaroop Bhairaram Bishnoi (24) and Hariram Jagdish Paliwal (31), both residents of Kudi village in Kalyanpur taluka of Balotra district, Rajasthan.

During personal search, police recovered 533 grams of MD (mephedrone)-like powder, blackish in colour, valued at approximately ₹53.30 lakh. Additionally, three mobile phones—including an iPhone 15 Pro Max, a Samsung Galaxy A73 (5G), and a Redmi A2—along with ₹900 in cash were seized. The total value of the seized material is estimated at ₹53,70,900.

The entire contraband was seized in the presence of panch witnesses. A case has been registered at MIDC Police Station under Crime No. 1105/2025 under Sections 8(c), 22(b), 22(ii)(c), and 29 of the NDPS Act, and both accused have been arrested.

This successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) S Rushikesh Reddy and Assistant Commissioner of Police, MIDC Division, Satish Gurav. The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Gokul Mahajan, along with PSI Sanjay Bansod, API Pankaj Sayam, and other police personnel from MIDC Police Station.
