Nagpur: Travelling from Nagpur to Gadchiroli will soon be a swift two-hour journey, thanks to the state government’s approval of the ambitious Bhandara–Gadchiroli Access-Controlled Double-Lane Expressway.
The project, cleared under a government resolution dated 27 December 2023, carries a total outlay of ₹13,000 crore, including ₹7,000 crore for construction and the remainder for land acquisition, GST, and allied taxes.

Design:
Section 1: 24.705 km, 3+3 lanes, from Savarkhanda interchange on the Nagpur–Gondia expressway to Koknagad on NH-53 (Raipur route).
Section 2: 69.536 km, 2+2 lanes, from Borgao interchange on the Savarkhanda–Koknagad link to Ranmochan in Chandrapur district on NH-353D (towards Gadchiroli).
Implementation: Construction divided into three packages—BG-1, BG-2, and BG-3—with contractors already finalized.
Land Acquisition:
Total Land Required: 1,013.58 hectares
Government land: 100 ha
Forest land: 60.62 ha
Private land: 852.96 ha
Joint measurement is in its final stage before administrative approval.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared by Monarch Surveyors & Engineering Consultant Ltd. Once completed, the high-speed corridor will dramatically cut travel time between Nagpur and Gadchiroli via Bhandara, boost regional connectivity, and open new avenues for trade and tourism in eastern Maharashtra.
