Nagpur: A woman was robbed of a gold chain and cash collectively worth Rs 1.25 lakh in Mankapur while returning from shopping on Tuesday, April 29.

The victim, 55-year-old Asha Dadarav Mahajan, a resident of Godhani Railway area near Ganpati Mandir, had gone shopping with her sister and daughter-in-law in the Itwari market. After buying a gold chain with a locket, she kept the items in her bag and took an autorickshaw back to her locality. After changing autos at Sadar Bus Stop and reaching home, she discovered that the chain of her bag was unzipped and the valuables had been stolen.

The stolen items include a gold chain and Rs 200 cash. The total estimated loss is Rs 1,25,200. Based on her complaint, Mankapur Police have registered a case under Section 379 of the BNS against an unknown thief.
