Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 1 on Wednesday, April 30, apprehended a 36-year-old externed individual from MIDC area in Bhim Nagar, who was found violating a city ban imposed on him for two years.
The accused, Vikas alias Vicky Mohan Rahangdale, a resident of Ward No. 4, Bhim Nagar, was spotted near Shiv Mandir around 7:05 pm. On seeing the police, he attempted to flee but was caught after a brief chase. A background check revealed that DCP Zone 1 had issued externment orders against him on November 12, 2024, under which he was barred from entering Nagpur city and rural areas for two years.
A case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered against him at MIDC Police Station for violating the prohibitory order. He was handed over to MIDC Police for further legal proceedings.
The action was taken under the supervision of CP Ravinder Kumar Singal, Addl CP Sanjay Patil (Crime), DCP Rahul Makanikar (Detection), and ACP Abhijit Patil. The operation team included PI Amol Deshmukh, PSI Sachin Bhonde, and police personnel Sushant Solanke, Hemant Lonare, Manoj Tekam, and Ravindra Khedekar.
