Nagpur: In a move aimed at clearing long-abandoned vehicles from various traffic divisions, the Nagpur Traffic Department has released a list of 778 unclaimed vehicles slated for auction. The initiative is being spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Archit Chandak, who confirmed that the auction will be conducted in collaboration with MSTC Limited, a government-authorized e-auction platform.
According to DCP Chandak, these vehicles have remained unclaimed for an extended period and will now be auctioned following due legal process. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Nagpur Traffic Police and MSTC Limited to ensure a smooth and transparent auction.
The complete list of unclaimed vehicles is now publicly available on the official website of the Nagpur City Police. Citizens can access the list by visiting: https://nagpurpolice.gov.in/PressRelease.html and clicking on the post titled “Unclaimed Vehicles for auction date May 14, 2025.”
DCP Chandak has appealed to vehicle owners to verify whether their vehicle appears in the list. Individuals with a legitimate claim or objection are required to contact the concerned traffic division or the traffic department within seven days of the public notice.
Failure to respond within the stipulated time will result in the vehicle being auctioned, with no further claims being entertained post-deadline, the police have clarified.
For assistance, citizens may contact the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Nagpur City, at the office located in Civil Lines, near Swagat Lawn, or call 9822931416.
“This initiative is aimed at clearing long-standing unclaimed vehicles and ensuring their legal disposal through proper auction channels,” DCP Chandak added.
