Nagpur: As many as 2,108 pilgrims from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar are set to depart for Haj from Nagpur between May 23 and 30, 2025. To ensure that the pilgrims are provided with all essential facilities, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari on Thursday, May 15, directed concerned departments to complete all assigned responsibilities promptly and efficiently.

The directives were issued during a review meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner’s office to assess the readiness of various departments for the upcoming Haj Yatra 2025. The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Bidari and attended by Additional Commissioner of General Administration Tejus Singh Pawar, Resident Deputy Collector Anup Khande, Maharashtra State Haj Committee Chairman Asif Khan, Director Salim Bagwan, Executive Officer Meghna Shinde, along with senior officials from the police, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, airport authority, traffic department, Public Works Department, State Bank of India, and Air India.

A total of 1,521 pilgrims from Maharashtra and 587 from Chhattisgarh and Bihar will take their flights to Saudi Arabia for the Haj pilgrimage from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur. Their return is scheduled between June 30 and July 3, 2025.

During the review, preparations at the Haj House—where pilgrims will be accommodated before their flights—and facilities to be provided at the airport, including various assistance counters, were closely examined. Commissioner Bidari stressed that all government departments involved should work proactively to ensure the best possible arrangements are made both at the Haj House and the airport.

She further emphasized that special attention must be given to the comfort and convenience of the pilgrims, ensuring that all support services are delivered smoothly and on time.
