Nagpur: The Nagpur Police Commissionerate officially announced and inaugurated the ‘CyberHack 2025’ hackathon competition on January 10, 2025, at the Control and Command Center in Nagpur.
This initiative aims to address the rising incidents of cyber fraud in the country by providing participants with real-world problem statements based on prevalent cybercrimes. The goal is to devise technical solutions and preventive measures against these crimes.
For the first time, Nagpur Police Commissionerate, in collaboration with local entrepreneurs and private organizations, is organizing this event. Speaking at the launch, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singhal emphasized the importance of curbing cybercrime and encouraged IT professionals, private institutions, educational organizations, IT companies, and cyber experts to participate. He announced cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000 for the winners, along with consolation prizes for outstanding solutions.
‘CyberHack 2025’ will take place from February 7 to February 9, 2025, at IIM Nagpur. The event is being co-organized by the Association for Industrial Development (AID), Vidarbha Advantage, IIM Nagpur, Infed, and Decodak. Registrations for the hackathon have already begun on decode@procohat.com.
The event is being led under the guidance of DCP Lohit Matani (Cyber/Zone 1, Nagpur City) and supported by Senior Police Inspector Amit Dolas, Sub-Inspectors Amol Deshmukh and Vivekanand Auti, along with Cyber Team members and Cyber Ambassadors, including MPOHWA Shraddha Dhomne.
The hackathon is expected to strengthen cybersecurity in the region by fostering innovation and collaboration among the country’s top minds in technology and cybersecurity.
