Nagpur: A spare parts manager employed at a Honda two-wheeler showroom in Nagpur has been booked for allegedly misappropriating ₹7 lakh by diverting customer payments to his wife’s bank account instead of the company’s account.

Based on a preliminary inquiry into a complaint, Ganeshpeth Police have registered an FIR under Sections 316(4) and 318(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The complainant has been identified as Sachin Shriram Gulhane (51), an Accounts Manager residing at Radhakrishna Nagar, Hudkeshwar, Nagpur.

The accused, Vilas Nayak (38), a resident of Mattipura, Sirsapeth, near Sheetla Mata Mandir, under the jurisdiction of Imambada Police Station, was employed as the Manager of the Spare Parts Department at Sai Honda Showroom near Ashok Chowk, Ganeshpeth.

According to the police complaint, between October 22, 2025, and June 8, 2026, Nayak allegedly collected payments from customers purchasing spare parts but, instead of depositing the money into the company’s account, directed them to scan the QR code linked to the bank account of his wife, Pikki Vilas Nayak.

Police said the accused allegedly diverted a total of ₹7 lakh through this method. By abusing the trust placed in him as an employee, he allegedly caused a financial loss to the company.

Following a departmental inquiry and the complaint filed by the accounts manager, Ganeshpeth Police registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the alleged financial fraud.
