Nagpur: Ganeshotsav mandals in Nagpur will now be able to obtain various permissions and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) through a single online platform, following the launch of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) ‘One Window Scheme’ on Thursday.

NMC Mayor Nita Thakre formally launched the online portal in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin and senior officials from the civic administration, police, fire department, MSEDCL and other departments.

The initiative has been introduced to simplify the permission process for Ganesh mandals and promote an environment-friendly celebration of Ganeshotsav. During the festival, mandals are required to obtain permissions related to pandal construction, fire safety, electricity arrangements and other civic requirements from multiple departments.

Under the new system, mandal organisers can apply for these permissions and submit the required documents online from a single platform. The move is aimed at eliminating the need to visit different government offices and reducing the time and effort involved in obtaining approvals.

Application Status Can Be Tracked Online

The One Window online portal will allow Ganesh mandals to submit applications and supporting documents digitally. Applicants will also be able to check the status of their permission requests online, making the process more transparent and convenient.

The system is expected to be particularly useful during Ganeshotsav, when civic authorities receive a large number of applications from festival organisers.

Application Facility Available at All 10 NMC Zones

For mandals that require assistance with the online process, NMC has also arranged application facilities at all 10 zonal offices across Nagpur.

Officials and employees from the concerned departments will be available at the zonal offices to assist mandal representatives in submitting applications along with the required documents. This will enable organisers to apply for permissions from one location instead of visiting multiple departmental offices.

Ganesh Mandals Can Apply From Home

The key feature of the initiative is that mandal office-bearers and members can apply for permissions from home. Applicants can visit the NMC online services portal, enter the required details and upload the necessary documents to initiate the permission process.
