Nagpur: A dispute over shop space at the weekly Tuesday market in Mankapur turned violent, resulting in the murder of a 29-year-old man and serious injuries to another here, on Thursday, April 3 night. The incident occurred near Mahakal Juice Center, opposite Raj Tower in the Mankapur area.
According to police, Sohail Bablu Khan, a resident of Naya Basti, was allegedly shot and stabbed to death by three men identified as Bhushan alias Baliya Jaykumar Bahad (35), Gajendra Ramchandra Markam (34), and Chandrashekar Shankarrao Dongre and Dhiraj Dharmaraj Ghodmare (39). The accused along conspired and attacked Khan using a country-made pistol and knives.
Khan’s friend, Mohammad Sultan (35), was also targeted in the attack and sustained critical injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital.
The motive behind the attack is linked to a heated argument over space allocation at the market with one of the suspects, Nandu Jaiswal, who had previously threatened Khan. Based on a complaint by Sohail’s brother, Parvez Bablu Khan, the Mankapur Police registered a case under BNS Sections 103, 109, and 3(5), along with relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.
All three named accused have been taken into custody, and a search is underway for the remaining suspects.
