Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 3 of Nagpur Police has successfully solved a case of forcible robbery registered at Nandanvan police station by arresting two accused, while a search is underway for the third suspect.
The incident occurred between 1.30 am and 3.30 am on January 1, 2026, when the complainant, Sameer Suresh Nakade (37), a resident of Nandanvan, was sleeping inside his four-wheeler parked near the Pandav College area. Taking advantage of the situation, three acquaintances of the complainant allegedly entered the vehicle, with two sitting in the rear and one in the front seat, and drove him around different locations.
During the act, the accused forcibly snatched a gold ring weighing approximately six grams and an Oppo mobile phone, collectively valued at around Rs 55,000, before abandoning the complainant in his own car and fleeing the spot. Following Nakade’s complaint, Nandanvan police registered a case under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
During parallel investigations, Crime Branch Unit 3 conducted a technical analysis and laid a trap, leading to the detention of two accused — Sahil Ali alias Gujjar Mustak Ali (19) of Hasanbagh, Nandanvan, and Syed Salman Syed Jalal (19) of Yashodharanagar. During interrogation, both confessed to committing the robbery along with the absconding accused Danish Ali Arshad Ali (20), a resident of Hasanbagh.
The arrested accused have been handed over to Nandanvan police for further investigation. Efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the wanted accused.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil.
