Nagpur Crime Branch Seizes MD Worth ₹30.2 Lakh, Two Arrested in Bhandewadi NDPS Case

Nagpur: Crime Branch’s Unit 3 has arrested two men and seized 151 grams of suspected mephedrone (MD) powder worth around ₹30.20 lakh during an operation in the Bhandewadi police station limits. The total value of the seized property, including vehicles and other items, has been pegged at ₹43.74 lakh.


According to police, the action was carried out near Vista Tattoo Studio in Vaishnavi Devi Nagar under the jurisdiction of Bhandewadi police station. A case has been registered as FIR No. 200/2026 under Sections 8(c), 22(c) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.


The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammed Niyaz Shamsul Ansari (34) and Mohammed Aslam Shamsul Ansari (34), both residents of the Wathoda area.


Police said Niyaz Ansari has a previous NDPS case registered against him, while Aslam Ansari has a previous murder case registered under Section 302 of the IPC.


The Crime Branch has also named Vishal alias Phalli Gupta, a resident of Wathoda, as a wanted accused. Police said cases relating to murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery and offences under the Arms Act are registered against him.


During the search, conducted in the presence of two independent witnesses and in accordance with NDPS Act procedures, police seized 151 grams of MD powder worth ₹30.20 lakh, two mobile phones worth ₹50,000, an electronic weighing scale and other material worth ₹1,000, ₹3,600 in cash, a Honda City car worth ₹12 lakh and a Suzuki Access scooter worth ₹1 lakh.


The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹43,74,600.


The accused and seized material were subsequently handed over to Bhandewadi police for further investigation.
