Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) traced and rescued a minor girl who had allegedly been lured away from her residence in the Pardi police jurisdiction last month.
According to police, the 35-year-old complainant had reported on January 7 that his underage daughter had left home without informing anyone and did not return. Suspecting that she had been enticed and taken away by an unidentified individual, Pardi Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
During parallel investigation, AHTU officials received specific information on February 13 that the girl was residing in Dighori (Kale), Mahalgaon area under Mauda police limits. Acting swiftly, the team located and took the minor into custody.
Police conducted detailed questioning and arranged counselling for the girl before handing her over to Pardi Police for further legal proceedings. The operation was executed under the supervision of senior city police officials.
Further probe into the role of the unidentified accused is ongoing.
