Crime Branch Unit 6 Nabs Murder and MCOCA Accused Wanted in Bhandara; Admits Role in Multiple Offences

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 6 of Nagpur City Police apprehended a 36-year-old man wanted in a murder case registered in Bhandara district and booked under stringent provisions of MCOCA.


The accused, identified as Vishal Ramchandra Manekar (36), a resident of Jaripatka, was reportedly staying on rent at Davlameti in the Wadi police limits to evade arrest.


Acting on credible intelligence inputs, the Crime Branch team laid a trap in the Wadi area and detained the suspect. During questioning, Manekar allegedly confessed to his involvement in a murder case registered at Gobarwahi Police Station. Police sources said the crime involved unlawful assembly and the use of firearms and sharp weapons. The case has been registered under the provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).


Further interrogation revealed that the accused was also involved in housebreaking offences under the jurisdictions of Jaripatka and Gittikhadan police stations in Nagpur.


Following his detention, the accused was handed over to Gobarwahi Police for further legal proceedings. Investigation into the case is ongoing.


The operation was conducted under the supervision of senior police officials, including Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal and other top officers of the Crime Branch.
