Nagpur: In a late-night operation, Kapil Nagar Police apprehended a 24-year-old man in possession of MD powder and other goods valued at ₹1,03,800 near Kamgar Nagar Square here, on Monday, May 5.

The accused, identified as Akash alias Patu Rajkumar Shukla, a resident of Nari Road, was found with 2.38 grams of MD powder concealed in his pocket.

The police, acting on a tip-off between 11:50 pm on May 4 and 1:35 am on May 5, intercepted the suspect while he was attempting to flee on a two-wheeler with no number plate. A zip-lock packet containing the drug was recovered, along with a mobile phone and the bike, all seized as evidence.

An offence under Sections 8(c) and 21(b) of the NDPS Act was registered at Kapil Nagar Police Station, and the accused was taken into custody. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal and senior officials from the Jaripatka Division.
