Nagpur: In a shocking incident from Nagpur’s Gittikhadan area, police have arrested four accused for allegedly attempting to murder a 44-year-old man after forcibly entering his house with deadly weapons.
The complainant, Suresh Joharsing Chavan (44), a resident of Gautam Nagar, Bhivsenkhori, stated that the accused—identified as Sahil Pravin Patil (19, Dahegaon, Kalmeshwar), Sohel alias Chiku Salim Khan (18, Gittikhadan), Dipak Laxmiprasad Bisen (23, Dabha, Gittikhadan), and Pavan Kishor Vardhe (19, Narmada Society, Gittikhadan)—were known to his son.
According to police, around 8:30 PM on March 23, 2026, the four accused, along with 5–6 accomplices, gathered near the complainant’s house armed with knives, an axe, sticks, and a sword. Acting on an unknown motive, they forcibly entered the house with the intention of killing the complainant and his son.
When the accused could not find the complainant’s son at home, they allegedly attacked Chavan with an axe and a sword, leaving him seriously injured. The attackers also vandalized household property and issued death threats against his son before fleeing the scene.
The injured victim was rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
Based on the complaint, Gittikhadan Police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including attempt to murder and criminal trespass. Acting swiftly, police tracked down and arrested all four accused. Further investigation is underway.
