Father injured by drunkard son over refusal to lend motorcycle in Nagpur’s Hingna

Nagpur: A 40-year-old man allegedly assaulted his 70-year-old father with a stone after the elderly man refused to lend him his motorcycle in Pandurang Nagar under Hingna police station limits on Wednesday evening.


According to the police, the accused, Bunty Nikam (40), lives with his father Vijay Nikam (70), a retired employee. Police said Bunty is allegedly addicted to alcohol and frequently gets into arguments and quarrels at home.


The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on August 19, when Bunty reportedly asked his father for his motorcycle. After Vijay refused to hand over the vehicle, Bunty allegedly picked up a stone lying on the roadside and struck his father on the head, causing injuries.


Vijay was taken to a government hospital for medical treatment. Based on his complaint, Hingna police registered a case against Bunty Nikam under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


Police said the accused has no previous criminal record. Further investigation is underway.
