Nagpur: What began as a joyful journey to attend a family wedding ended in an unimaginable tragedy, as three members of a family lost their lives in a horrific road accident near Warud, while another remains critically injured.

The victims belonged to a family residing in Khairi village of Kamptee. The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, leaving the local community in deep mourning.

According to sources, the Nandane family, residents of Vinayak Colony in Khairi, had shifted to the area about a year ago. They were travelling by car to attend a relative’s wedding in Akola when the accident occurred.

Near Warud, the vehicle reportedly went out of control while negotiating a turn and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely mangled.

In the tragic accident, 62-year-old Samadhan Kisanrao Nandane, who was seated in the front, died on the spot. Two other passengers, Kiran Gopal Nandane (28) and a three-year-old child, Diya Nandane, also succumbed to their injuries.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Gopal Samadhan Nandane sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be serious.

Eyewitnesses said the sound of the crash was extremely loud, prompting nearby residents to rush to the spot and alert the police. Authorities arrived quickly and initiated rescue operations, but three lives had already been lost.

The heartbreaking incident has left the entire Khairi village in grief. What was meant to be a celebration turned into a devastating loss, claiming the lives of three family members, including a young child who had barely begun to experience life.
