3.9 Kg Narcotic Substance Seized at Nagpur Railway Station; One Held

Nagpur: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, the Central Railway, Nagpur Division, seized approximately 3.90 kg of suspected narcotic substance at Nagpur Railway Station and apprehended one person in connection with the case.


The operation was carried out on April 26, 2026, following directives from the Crime Intelligence Branch. A preventive surveillance team was deployed at Platform No. 1 (Mumbai end) to monitor suspicious movements.


During the surveillance, officials intercepted a youth carrying a black backpack. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Mohit Sindoor, a resident of Balangir district in Odisha.


Suspecting foul play, the team conducted a search of the bag and recovered four packets wrapped in khaki tape. The Railway Protection Force Dog Squad was called in, and the sniffer dog indicated the presence of narcotic material.


Following due legal procedure, including examination in the presence of a gazetted officer and independent witnesses, the seized material was confirmed to be approximately 3.90 kg of ganja-like substance, valued at around ₹78,000.


The entire action was documented through photography and videography, and the seized substance was sealed as per protocol. The accused, along with the recovered material, was handed over to the Government Railway Police Nagpur for further legal action.


Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and reiterated their commitment to ensuring passenger safety and curbing illegal activities across railway premises.
