Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station have arrested a 28-year-old serial molester who allegedly targeted at least 11 women across multiple areas of the city by stalking them on a two-wheeler and making obscene gestures.

The accused has been identified as Kartik alias Khamdev Fulsing Patle, a resident of MIDC. His arrest followed an extensive technical investigation in which police scrutinised nearly 115 CCTV camera footages to trace his movements and establish his involvement in multiple offences.

The case surfaced after an incident on March 24, 2026, at around 1.20 am, when a 25-year-old woman was returning home on her two-wheeler after attending a birthday party. Near Mutton Market Square, on London Street and Jaitala Road, the accused, riding a black two-wheeler, allegedly attempted to knock her down by kicking her vehicle. He then followed her, made obscene gestures, and continued to harass her.

Following the victim’s complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections and launched a probe.

Acting under the guidance of senior police inspector Pankaj Bondse, the investigation team relied heavily on technical surveillance, eventually identifying and arresting the accused.

During interrogation, Patle reportedly confessed to committing 11 such offences across the city — four within Rana Pratap Nagar police limits, two in Bajaj Nagar, two in Ambazari, and two in MIDC areas, indicating a pattern of repeated targeting of women.

Police have seized two two-wheelers collectively worth ₹80,000 that were allegedly used in the crimes. Further investigation is underway to verify if more victims may have been targeted.
