DSC Subedar Major Killed in Firing Accident During Routine Practice at Pulgaon Ammunition Depot

Nagpur: A tragic accident occurred during a routine firing practice at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon on Friday, claiming the life of a Defence Security Corps (DSC) Junior Commissioned Officer on Friday.


According to an official statement issued by the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO), Subedar Major Om Bahadur Khand died following a firing accident at the firing range on May 15.


The incident took place during a scheduled routine firing exercise being conducted at the Central Ammunition Depot, Pulgaon, under the jurisdiction of Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area. Defence authorities stated that the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation.


In the official communication, the Army unit expressed deep grief over the loss of the senior DSC officer and extended condolences to the bereaved family.


“The Unit conveys their deepest condolences to the aggrieved family,” the statement said.


No further details regarding the nature of the accident or the sequence of events leading to the firing mishap have been disclosed so far. Defence officials are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident.
