Drunk Bolero Pick-up Van Driver Kills Biker, Damages Another Bike in Wathoda, Nagpur; Arrested

Nagpur: A drunk Bolero pick-up van driver caused chaos in the Kharabi area on Wednesday night, November 6, after hitting a biker and killing him on the spot. In an attempt to flee, the van also damaged a stationary bike nearby, police said.


According to police sources, Vivek Vijayrao Ranware (24) was riding his bike (MH/49/BY/1059) around 8 p.m. on Wednesday when he was struck by a Bolero pick-up van (MH/49/AT/6792). After injuring Vivek, the driver attempted to escape, damaging another parked bike in the process.


Vivek was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Based on a complaint filed by Janardan Devrao Surfe (45), a resident of Plot No. 106, Chaitanyeshwar Nagar, Kharabi, Wathoda Police registered a case under Sections 281, 105, and 324(4) of the BNS and Sections 184 and 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act.


Following an intensive manhunt, Wathoda Police arrested the accused driver, identified as Vishnu Parasram Dhalukar (45), a resident of Anmol Nagar, Wathoda.
