Burglars Break Into Uppalwadi Home While Family Sleeps, Decamp With Cash and Jewellery

Nagpur: A major burglary was reported in Kapil Nagar police station limits after unidentified thieves broke into a house in Uppalwadi and stole cash, gold and silver ornaments, and other valuables worth nearly Rs 1.84 lakh.


According to police, the incident occurred between 11 pm on June 1 and 8.45 am on June 2 at Plot No. 19, Ekta Nagar Colony, Uppalwadi. Complainant Kalyani Robin Phulsunge (37) and her family were asleep inside the house after locking it from within.


During the night, unidentified burglars allegedly broke the latch and lock of the main entrance door and entered the house. The thieves then accessed two bedrooms and stole Rs 39,000 in cash kept in iron cupboards, along with various gold and silver ornaments, a gas regulator, and a Titan wristwatch. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at Rs 1,83,885.


Following a complaint lodged by the victim, Kapil Nagar Police registered a case against unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). PSI Shankar Nilpatrewar is leading the investigation.


Police have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the culprits. Further investigation is in progress.
