Argument Over Chair at Marriage Hall Turns Violent in Kamptee, 21-Year-Old Injured; Three Booked

Nagpur: A dispute over a chair at a marriage function in Kamptee turned violent on Monday night, leaving a 21-year-old man injured. Kamptee Police have registered a case against three youths in connection with the assault.


According to police, the incident occurred at around 8.30 pm on June 30, 2026, at Raj Royal Palace Hall in Kamptee. The complainant, Aditya Prashant Bawankule (21), a resident of Kumore Colony in Kamptee, was attending a function at the marriage hall when an argument broke out with the accused over a chair.


The verbal altercation soon escalated, and the accused allegedly abused and assaulted the complainant. During the attack, one of the accused allegedly struck Bawankule on his left eye and mouth with a bangle/bracelet worn on his hand, causing injuries.


The accused have been identified as Aman Premdas Manjokar (18) and Prince Premdas Manjokar (23), both residents of Bharat Town, Yerkheda, Kamptee, and Mahesh Ramaswatar Kevatwas (25), a resident of Rajnagar, Kamptee.


Based on the victim’s complaint,  New Kamptee Police registered an offence under Sections 118(1), 115(2), 352 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
