Nagpur: In a preventive action to maintain law and order during Ram Navami celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 5, Niketan Kadam, Nagpur City, has externed 90 history-sheeters and habitual offenders from the jurisdiction for three days.
The action was taken under Section 163(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, exercising powers of the Special Executive Magistrate, from March 25 to March 27, 2026. The move aims to prevent any breach of public peace during the festival.
The externed accused include individuals involved in crimes against the human body, property offences, and illegal liquor trade within the limits of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station (25 accused), Kalamna Police Station (15), Pardi Police Station (20), Wathoda Police Station (18), and Bhandewadi Police Station (12).
All have been directed not to enter their respective police station limits during the specified period.
