Nagpur: A 14-year-old boy lost his life after being crushed under an overturned tractor near a sand ghat in the New Kamptee police limits on March 20.

The deceased, identified as Ajay Kalab Mohase (14), had recently arrived with his family from Betul district in Madhya Pradesh for work at the sand ghat near Unagaon Aroda. The family had been residing at the work site.

At around 4.30 pm, a tractor reportedly overturned near a furnace area at the sand ghat, trapping the minor underneath and causing severe injuries. He was rushed to the Sub-District Government Hospital in Kamptee, where doctors declared him dead during treatment at 5.30 pm.

New Kamptee police have registered a case of accidental death and launched further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the mishap.
