Nagpur: Two teenagers were killed and another was injured after an electric Tata Curvv car rammed into a stationary truck from behind near the Bharatwada Y Point on the Pawan Gaon–Bharatwada road in Nagpur early Wednesday morning.
According to Kalamna police, the accident occurred around 5.30 am on August 12, 2026. The three friends were travelling in a Tata Curvv (MH 49 CS 0427), owned by the father of one of them, to attend their friend Jay’s birthday celebration.
As Jay was expected to arrive later, the three teenagers were reportedly driving around in the car. Mihir Anand Behar (17) was behind the wheel, while Bhaumik Amol Larokar (16) and Sagar Sanjay Melwani (17) were seated inside the vehicle.
Near the Bharatwada Y Point, the car allegedly crashed into the rear of a truck (CG 04 MC 2981) that was standing on the road. The impact left Bhaumik and Sagar critically injured. Both teenagers died in the accident.
Mihir, who was driving the car, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Tarangan Hospital.
Kalamna police registered an accidental death case based on the information received and have launched an inquiry. Further action will be taken after the investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the cause of the collision, are being investigated by the police.
