Nagpur: Sadar police have registered a case against two men and the operator of a pub and bar on Mount Road for allegedly allowing customers below the age of 21 to enter the establishment by manipulating their Aadhaar details.
According to police, the case was registered based on a complaint by Police Head Constable Rajesh Madhukar Sonawane, 50, posted at Sadar police station. Acting on a tip-off, police visited Ripples Pub and Bar on Mount Road, Sadar.
Police allegedly found that the accused were accepting money from young customers below 21 and using Aadhaar-related details available on mobile phones, including information accessed through ChatGPT and the MyAadhaar app, to verify and allegedly alter birth-date details before granting them entry.
The complaint alleges that the accused conspired with the pub operator to increase the crowd at the establishment and earn higher commissions. They allegedly manipulated dates of birth recorded on Aadhaar cards of under-21 customers and provided them unauthorised entry.
Police have booked Vinay Vanmali Phulmali (24), Anurag alias Jerry Sandeep Waghmare (21), and the pub operator under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Aadhaar Act.
Further investigation is underway.
