Nagpur: Swift action by Pardi Police led to the arrest of a burglary suspect and the recovery of stolen property worth ₹3,17,200, including cash, vehicles, and liquor bottles. The accused, identified as Rahul Mukesh Kokode (24), resident of Bhandewadi, Pardi, was apprehended after a thorough investigation.
The case was registered following a complaint by Satish Narayan Raut (46), resident of Yogeshwar Nagar, Dighori. Raut owns a government-licensed liquor shop near Prajapati Nagar Metro Station. On the night of October 12, after locking up his shop around 10 pm, Raut returned the next morning to find the shutter broken and ₹37,000 cash missing. Based on his complaint, a case was lodged at Pardi Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
During investigation, police teams visited the scene, conducted technical analysis, and received a reliable tip-off about the suspect’s involvement. Upon interrogation, Rahul Kokode confessed to committing the theft along with two accomplices — Bunty and Vijay alias Kalya Hansraj Nirmalkar, both residents of Chikhli Slum, Kalamna.
From the accused, police seized an auto-rickshaw (MH 49 E 1067), a Hero Deluxe motorcycle (without a number plate), and 90 bottles of country liquor “Bhingri Santra No. 1” (180 ml each) — all collectively valued at ₹3.17 lakh.
Kokode has been arrested, while efforts are underway to trace his absconding accomplices.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (North) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam, and ACP (Jaripatka Division) Satyaveer Bandiwar, by a team led by PI Nanda Mangate, PSI Arvind Kolhare, and staff members Nitin Bobde, Bhojraj Pradhan, Sandeep Dhale, and Gaurav Yuvte.
