Nagpur: Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has announced a 52-day traffic block at Nagpur Railway Station as part of major infrastructure upgradation works aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and overall station facilities. Platform No. 2 will remain closed from April 8, 2026, to May 29, 2026.
The work will be executed by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) in coordination with the Non-Interlocking (NI) work at Gondia Station under South East Central Railway, scheduled from April 4, 2026. Railway officials stated that the block period is being synchronised to ensure safe execution while minimising disruption to train operations.
During the block period, Platform No. 3 will handle train movements.
No Train Cancellations
The Railways clarified that no trains will be cancelled due to the block. However, certain operational changes will be implemented.
Train No. 01140 Madgaon–Nagpur Special (Thursday, Sunday) will be short-terminated at Ajni from April 9 to May 28, 2026. Similarly, Train No. 01139 Nagpur–Madgaon Special (Wednesday, Saturday) will originate from Ajni instead of Nagpur from April 8 to May 27, 2026.
Trains Diverted via Alternate Route
The following trains will be diverted via Wardha–Badnera–Chandur Bazar–Narkher–Itarsi route and vice versa:
- Train No. 07075/07076 Hyderabad–Gorakhpur Express
- Train No. 05073/05074 KSR Bengaluru–Lal Kuan Special
- Train No. 06509/06510 KSR Bengaluru–Danapur Special
Additionally, trains including 22614 Ayodhya Cantt.–Rameswaram Express, 12670 Chhapra–MGR Chennai Central Express, 18030/12102 Shalimar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, 22906 Shalimar–Okha Express and 12906 Shalimar–Porbandar Express will be regulated en route by approximately 10 minutes to two hours.

Railway authorities have assured that additional staff will be deployed on Platform No. 3 to assist commuters. Passengers are advised to check platform details through official railway sources before travel and avoid crowding by ensuring they hold valid tickets.
