Nagpur Police Return Stolen Property Worth Over ₹3 Crore in Zone 5

Nagpur: In a major recovery and return drive, Zone 5 of Nagpur Police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam, has returned stolen and seized property worth over ₹3 crore to the rightful owners. This includes stolen mobile phones, vehicles, and valuable items recovered during investigations from January to April 2025.


In a special event held under Yashodhara Nagar Police Station on May 3, property worth ₹2.54 crore — including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and other valuable items — was officially returned to victims of theft and burglary cases under the jurisdiction of Zone 5. Additionally, 268 stolen or lost mobile phones collectively worth ₹49.59 lakh were traced and handed back to their original owners.


This massive recovery operation was carried out across police stations in Yashodhara Nagar, Jaripatka, Pardi, Kapil Nagar, Koradi, Kalamna, New Kamptee, and Old Kamptee. The mobile phones were traced with the help of dedicated cyber and mobile tracking teams equipped with modern technology.


Breakup of Mobile Recoveries by Police Stations:


  • Kalamna: 77 mobiles worth ₹12 lakh
  • Pardi: 38 mobiles worth ₹5.88 lakh
  • New Kamptee: 20 mobiles worth ₹3.17 lakh
  • Old Kamptee: 14 mobiles worth ₹3.36 lakh
  • Yashodhara Nagar: 27 mobiles worth ₹3.34 lakh
  • Kapil Nagar: 50 mobiles worth ₹8.61 lakh
  • Jaripatka: 26 mobiles worth ₹10.35 lakh
  • Koradi: 16 mobiles worth ₹2.89 lakh


Total: 268 mobiles worth ₹49.59 lakh


Valuables and Vehicles Returned from Jan–April 2025:


  • Kalamna: ₹8.26 lakh
  • New Kamptee: ₹7.23 lakh
  • Old Kamptee: ₹46.55 lakh
  • Yashodhara Nagar: ₹20.92 lakh
  • Kapil Nagar: ₹6.02 lakh
  • Jaripatka: ₹30.99 lakh
  • Koradi: ₹55.49 lakh



Total Property Returned: ₹2.54 crore

Combined with mobile recoveries: ₹3.04 crore


This initiative was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional Commissioner Pramod Kumar Shewale, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Niketan Kadam. Several police personnel and cyber teams from Zone 5 played a crucial role in tracking, seizing, and verifying the rightful ownership of the stolen items.


The Nagpur Police has urged citizens to report stolen or lost items promptly, assuring continued efforts toward recovery and transparency.
