NAGPUR: A 29-year-old man has been booked by Pachpaoli police for allegedly stalking his former girlfriend, verbally abusing her and threatening to circulate her private photographs and videos after their relationship ended.

The complainant, a 28-year-old woman, told police that she was in a relationship with the accused, identified as Shikhal Anil Ramteke, a resident of Bezanbagh near Lal School, from 2015 to 2022.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly subjected her to repeated harassment, used obscene language and frequently quarrelled with her during their relationship. She eventually ended the relationship in 2022 and blocked his phone number.

However, the accused allegedly continued contacting her through different mobile numbers, abusing and threatening her. He also allegedly followed her from her residence to her workplace, causing her mental distress.

The matter escalated on October 23, when the accused allegedly called the woman’s mother and threatened to circulate the complainant’s private photographs and videos that he possessed.

Following the threat, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.

Further investigation is underway.
