Preparations at Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace Temple Underway
Nagpur: With the 68th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day approaching, the district administration is ensuring that all necessary arrangements, including security, healthcare, sanitation, traffic management, and additional accommodation for devotees, are in place. District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar emphasized the need for seamless coordination among various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
In a preparatory meeting held for the event at Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace Temple, Dr. Itankar instructed the officers and staff assigned to manage these tasks to exercise extra caution. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Lohit Matani, former State Minister Sulekha Kumbhare, representatives from the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Committee—Sudhir Phulzele and Vilas Gajghate, Sub-Divisional Officer Suresh Bagle, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shweta Khedkar, and Deputy Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Milind Meshram, along with other senior officials.
During the meeting, Dr. Itankar emphasized the importance of keeping devotees informed about train schedules, platforms, and departure timings from Nagpur Railway Station. He mentioned that many devotees disembark at Ajni Chowk, and the authorities, in collaboration with Samata Dal volunteers and members of the Memorial Committee, will work to ensure smooth arrangements and prevent any inconvenience to travelers.
He also mentioned that during this period, various institutions organize several charitable activities, including blood donation drives. The district administration, in collaboration with local blood banks, will coordinate with organizations willing to take the lead in such initiatives.
The district administration is keen to ensure that the 68th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day is celebrated with enthusiasm while ensuring the safety and well-being of all devotees attending the event at both Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace Temple.
