Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 5 cracked a significant housebreaking case in Pardi, recovering stolen valuables worth ₹2,87,900. On January 1, 2025, the complainant, Gautam Likhiram Verma, 55, reported a burglary at his locked residence in Jai Ambanagar, Bhandewadi.
Unknown culprits broke the main door lock and stole ₹1,73,000 in cash, gold and silver ornaments, and property registration papers. Based on Verma’s complaint, Pardi Police registered a case under Sections 305(a), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS.
During a routine patrol, Crime Branch officers received information about a suspicious individual near Mecosabagh Ground. The suspect, identified as Mohammad Faiyyaz, 22, of Gangabag, Pardi, attempted to flee but was apprehended. Upon search, police recovered gold and silver ornaments and two mobile phones.
Faiyyaz admitted to committing the crime with an accomplice, Guruprasad alias Lucky Sanodiya, 22, of Shivnagar Slums, Bhandevadi. Stolen items worth ₹1,64,900 were recovered. Both suspects were handed over to Pardi Police for further investigation.
The operation was led by senior officers, including Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Maknikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhijeet Patil.
