Nagpur Crime Branch Busts Sex Racket at Radiant Salon and Spa in Sadar, Three Women Rescued

Nagpur: The Unit 1 Crime Branch of Nagpur Police busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from a spa in the Sadar area and arrested the spa operator under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA), officials said.


The raid was carried out at Radiant Salon and Spa, located on the ground floor of Acharaj Tower Building near Chhaoni Chowk under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station.


The accused has been identified as Bhushan Nareshrao Waghmare (31), a resident of Ajay Nagar near Gular Hospital under Ambazari Police Station limits.


According to the Crime Branch, the accused was allegedly luring women with the promise of money and running a prostitution racket from the spa for financial gain. Acting on specific information, police conducted a raid using a decoy customer in the presence of independent witnesses and allegedly caught the accused facilitating commercial sexual exploitation.


Police have registered a case under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.


During the operation, police seized property worth ₹36,000, including:


  • ₹2,000 used by the decoy customer during the trap.
  • An Android mobile phone.
  • ₹1,000 in cash allegedly collected from customers.
  • Used condoms.
  • Sealed condom packets.
  • A DVR box.


Following the raid, the accused and three rescued women were medically examined. They were subsequently handed over to Sadar Police Station along with the seized property for further legal action.


Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case to determine whether the racket had wider links or additional persons involved in the alleged illegal operation.
