Nagpur Crime Branch Arrests Attempt-to-Murder Accused Within 3 Hours

Nagpur: In a swift operation, Nagpur Crime Branch Unit 5 arrested three accused within three hours in connection with an attempt-to-murder case registered under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station.

According to police officials, the complainant, Mustaq Khan Karim Khan, aged 23, and the accused were known to each other. The violent incident took place on May 13, 2026, between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm due to an old rivalry.

Accused Assaulted Two Brothers Over Old Dispute

The accused have been identified as:

Mohammad Faizan Mohammad Afzal Ansari, age 26
Taufiq Khan alias Babu Nasir Khan, age 18
Mohammad Arbaz Mohammad Subhan Ansari, age 18
Shoaib Lala, age approximately 25

Police said the accused allegedly attacked the complainant and his brother, Mustakeen Khan Karim Khan, near Wanjra Layout Railway Crossing at MHADA Quarters, Bilal Nagar, Pivali River area in Yashodhara Nagar.

During the assault, accused Shoaib Lala allegedly stabbed Mustakeen Khan multiple times on the head, chin, nose, and neck with an intention to kill, causing serious injuries.

Victim Undergoing Treatment at Trauma Center

The injured victim was immediately admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital Trauma Center, where treatment is currently ongoing.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Yashodhara Nagar Police Station registered a case under Sections 109(1), 115(2), 296, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Crime Branch Swiftly Cracks the Case

During the investigation, officers and staff of Crime Branch Unit 5 launched a search operation and successfully detained accused numbers 1 to 3 within just three hours of the crime. The arrested accused were later handed over to Yashodhara Nagar Police for further legal proceedings.

Police are continuing the search for the absconding accused, Shoaib Lala, while further investigation is underway.
