Nagpur: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday morning, September 13, detained two men from Kamptee for their alleged online connections with individuals in Pakistan, sparking tension in the area.

Sources revealed that the pair had initially been questioned a few days earlier and released the same day. However, fresh intelligence inputs led ATS officers to take them into custody again for extended interrogation.

Officials from the Nagpur ATS unit conducted the operation at daybreak. Investigators stated that both suspects had been living in Kamptee for a long time and were highly active on social media, where they reportedly maintained contact with people based in Pakistan. The duo has been shifted to the ATS office in Nagpur for further questioning.

The case surfaces soon after a separate incident during Operation Sindoor, when a woman from the Kapil Nagar police jurisdiction allegedly crossed the Line of Control (LoC) from Kargil into Pakistan. She, too, had reportedly developed ties with Pakistani nationals through social media before being detained by Pakistani Rangers.

The ATS has yet to disclose the identities of the Kamptee suspects as the investigation continues.
