Nagpur: In a remarkable display of unity and cultural harmony, Muslim radio jockey (RJ) Farhan anchored the 73rd Ravan Dahan event at the iconic Kasturchand Park on Saturday, attended by over 40,000 people. The event, organized by the Sanatan Dharm Yuvak Sabha (SDYS), featured prominent figures such as Hindutva leader Dr. Pravin Togadia and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Subhir Kapoor, an executive member of SDYS, highlighted the significance of involving diverse individuals in the event. "Artists are known by their work, not by caste or religion," Kapoor said. "Humanity is the cornerstone of commendable work, which is why we invited RJ Farhan for the third consecutive year. He refuses remuneration and remains enthusiastic about anchoring the event. It has always been our endeavor to connect with people from all walks of life, including those from different religions."

RJ Farhan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the event. "Art is religion, and it was an honor to host the event for the third time," he said. "This demonstrates unity among religions and sends out a positive message in society. Most of those who spread hate are either illiterate or misguided. It is essential to promote camaraderie, and India has a long-standing tradition of celebrating each other's festivals."

Farhan shared that his efforts were appreciated by Dr. Pravin Togadia, who personally praised his work at the event. "Dr. Togadia said to me, 'Farhan bhai, achha anchoring kiya' (Farhan, you did good anchoring)," Farhan recalled. "This shows that educated people can set aside religious differences to appreciate art and cultural values."

During his address, Farhan narrated stories from the Ramayana, emphasizing Lord Ram's teachings of respect and harmony. He also recounted the tale of Lord Ram sending Laxman to learn from Ravan on his deathbed, a story that resonated with the audience and received widespread applause.

The event was a powerful example of bridging religious divides, reinforcing the message of unity and the age-old tradition of celebrating the triumph of good over evil.
