Nagpur: Kotwali Police have detained a 40-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 24-year-old woman on Ayachit Mandir Road on Tuesday evening. The incident took place around 6.45 pm when the complainant, a resident of the Kotwali jurisdiction, was walking home after finishing work at her private office.

According to police, the accused, identified as Santoshkumar Karanjyotsing Baghel, a resident of Kotwali, approached the woman without any provocation and allegedly engaged in obscene behaviour, including inappropriate physical contact, causing her mental harassment and humiliation.

Based on her complaint, Sub-Inspector Rahul Katkade registered an offence under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police acted swiftly and took the accused into custody. Further investigation is underway.
