Nagpur: Nagpur Division of Central Railway has achieved significant revenue growth through sustained and intensive ticket checking drives conducted across its network. From January to December 2025, these vigilant efforts resulted in total earnings of more than ₹20.57 crore, reflecting the Division’s strong commitment to revenue protection, passenger discipline, and rule compliance.
During this period, a total of 1,61,914 cases of ticketless travel were detected. From these cases, fare amounting to ₹7.22 crore and additional charges of ₹4.44 crore were recovered. In addition, 1,52,292 cases of irregular travel were booked, leading to the recovery of ₹4.08 crore as fare and ₹3.91 crore as additional charges.
The ticket checking staff also detected 2,309 cases of unbooked luggage, from which an amount of ₹4.87 lakh was realized. Overall, 3,29,839 cases were booked during the period, generating a total revenue of ₹20,57,78,331 for the Nagpur Division.
This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication, alertness, and coordinated efforts of ticket checking staff, supervisors, and enforcement teams who worked relentlessly across stations and onboard trains. The sustained drives not only contributed substantially to railway revenue but also helped in discouraging ticketless and irregular travel, thereby promoting fairness among genuine passengers.
