Nagpur: A major house burglary has been reported under the Ajni Police Station limits, where unidentified thieves decamped with cash and valuables worth ₹5.60 lakh from a locked residence in Dwarkapuri.
According to police sources, the incident occurred between 4 pm on February 4 and 7 am on February 10, 2026, at Plot No. 74, Galli No. 3, Dwarkapuri. The complainant, Jitendrasingh Shobhnathsinh Sengar, 49, had locked his house and travelled with his family to Rewa district to attend a wedding ceremony.
Taking advantage of the absence, unknown miscreants allegedly broke open the main door lock and latch, entered the house, and targeted wooden and iron cupboards in the bedroom. The accused reportedly stole ₹15,000 in cash along with gold and silver ornaments, taking away property collectively valued at ₹5.60 lakh.
Based on the complaint, Sub-Inspector Jayprakash Ghagare of Ajni Police Station has registered an offence under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against unidentified persons. Police have launched a search operation and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to trace the culprits.
Further investigation is underway.
