Nagpur: The Hudkeshwar Police Station has registered a major theft case after unidentified valuables worth more than ₹8.49 lakh were allegedly stolen from a car decor shop in the Dighori area of Nagpur by breaking through a common wall connected to an adjoining shop.

According to police, complainant Nazma Siraj Khan (42), a resident of Ramkrishna Nagar, Dighori, owns Shop No. 05 at Ayushi Apartment near Dighori Chowk, where her husband operates a business named Hyderabad Car Decor.

Dispute Over Adjacent Shop Led to Earlier Clash

Police said that Nazma Khan had purchased the adjoining Shop No. 06 from Rajkumar Bhojwani on September 24, 2025. However, the property was allegedly encroached upon by accused Salim Khan Akbar Khan Pathan (45), a resident of Awliya Nagar near Kabristan, Motha Tajbagh, Sakkardara.

On December 14, 2025, when the complainant and her husband attempted to take possession of the shop, a violent altercation reportedly broke out between both parties, during which the accused sustained serious injuries. A case had already been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station in connection with that incident.

Following the dispute, the complainant had reportedly kept the shop closed for several months.

Shop Wall Broken, Goods Worth ₹8.49 Lakh Missing

On May 11, 2026, at around 5 PM, when the complainant’s husband reopened Shop No. 05, he discovered that all the car decor material stored inside had disappeared.

During inspection, they also found that the common wall between Shop No. 05 and Shop No. 06 had been demolished and reconstructed, allegedly allowing unauthorized entry into the premises.

Police stated that between December 17, 2025, and May 11, 2026, the accused allegedly broke through the wall and stole several expensive items, including:

  • Music systems and players
  • Car stickers
  • Cameras
  • Leather sheets
  • Decorative lights
  • Lamination material
  • Cash worth ₹5,000

The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at ₹8,49,500.

Based on the complaint, Sub-Inspector Aarti Karande registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
