Nagpur: Kalamna Police have registered a case against eight people for allegedly conspiring to create fake documents and a forged registration deed to illegally sell a 1,500-square-foot plot belonging to a Nagpur resident.
The case relates to Plot No. 46 at Mouza Kalamna, P.H. No. 17, Khasra Nos. 21, 28/2 and 9, within the Kalamna police station jurisdiction.
The complainant, Pradeep Upadhyay (51), a businessman residing in Hudkeshwar, approached the police alleging that the accused had fraudulently attempted to transfer his property by fabricating official documents between November 2011 and July 2026.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly prepared fake documents relating to Plot No. 46 and arranged for an impersonator to pose as Vivek Upadhyay at the complainant’s property. Another woman was allegedly made to impersonate the complainant’s mother, Jankibai Upadhyay.
The accused allegedly used these impersonators to prepare a false affidavit and other fabricated property documents. Police said accused persons allegedly signed the documents as witnesses and prepared a forged registration deed.
The complaint further alleges that Dilip Rajesh Pant, one of the accused, subsequently sold the disputed plot to another accused, Nitin Shivnarayan Shahu, despite the property allegedly belonging to the complainant.
The complainant alleged that all the accused acted in collusion and with a common conspiracy to defraud him and illegally create ownership documents for his property.
Based on the complaint, Kalamna Police registered a case under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The accused named in the case include Sandeep Munnalal Shahu, Yogesh Jagannath Shahu, Nitin Shivnarayan Shahu, Khan Abdul Samad Ismail, Dilip Rajesh Pant, Tulsidas Vithoba Kumbhare, along with two alleged impersonators identified in the complaint as a woman using the name Jankibai Giradharlal Upadhyay and a man using the name Vivek Giradharlal Upadhyay.
No arrest has been reported so far. Police are investigating the alleged property fraud, forged documents and the roles of each accused.
