Nagpur: A serious road accident occurred under Mankapur Police Station limits when a doctor was severely injured after colliding with a suddenly opened car door.

The victim, a 46-year-old resident of Baba Farid Nagar, Zingabai Takli, was riding his motorcycle when a WagonR car (MH-40-BJ-5206), allegedly parked negligently in the middle of the road, had its driver-side door opened abruptly.

The motorcyclist crashed into the door and sustained serious injuries. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital, where treatment is ongoing.

Police have registered a case against the car driver under sections related to rash and negligent driving, along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is in progress.
