Nagpur: Lakadganj police have registered a case of house burglary after unidentified thieves broke into a locked residence and decamped with cash worth Rs 1.24 lakh in the city. The incident took place between 8.55 pm on January 16 and 12.10 am on January 17 within the jurisdiction of Lakadganj police station.
According to police, the complainant, Krushnakant Manoharji Sonawale (46), a resident of Plot No. 855-A near Kolba Swami Chowk, in front of Rahate Hospital, had locked his house and gone with his family to Hudkeshwar to attend a dinner programme at his in-laws’ place. Taking advantage of the absence of the family, an unknown burglar allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the house and stole a steel container and a purse kept inside a wooden cupboard, containing Rs 1,24,000 in cash.
Based on the complaint, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Adarsh Bhandare of Lakadganj police station has registered a case against an unknown accused under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have launched an investigation and efforts are on to identify and trace the accused.
