Nagpur: In a major crackdown on narcotics under the “Operation Thunder”, launched by Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, the Ajni Police have arrested a youth for possessing and allegedly selling MD drugs.
Acting on a tip-off, the Ajni police team laid a trap near Chimni Chowk, close to Thaware School, on the evening of April 28, 2026. The suspect, identified as Harshal Rakesh Brahmane (25), a resident of Trimurti Nagar, was apprehended while arriving on a two-wheeler.
During the search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered:
- 18.2 grams of MD powder
- 5 empty zip-lock pouches
- 6 mobile phones
- A two-wheeler
The total seized material is valued at approximately ₹1.93 lakh.
Police confirmed that the accused was in possession of the drugs for sale and personal financial gain. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
