Nagpur: Kalamna police have arrested an 18-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on multiple occasions at different locations in Nagpur.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Chhappanlal Bante (18), a resident of Pach No. Naka, Nagpur. The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the minor girl.

Police said the girl and the accused had developed a friendship and would meet and communicate with each other. Between January 26 and August 22, 2026, the accused allegedly took the girl to different places on different dates and established physical relations with her, despite knowing that she was a minor.

The alleged incidents took place at locations including the minor’s maternal aunt’s residence near Deputy Signal, falling under the jurisdiction of Kalamna police.

Following the complaint, Kalamna police registered an offence under Section 65(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as mentioned in the police record.

Further investigation is underway.
