Nagpur: A dramatic scene unfolded outside a popular bar in Nagpur’s Sadar area after a woman allegedly grabbed a police constable by the collar and assaulted him during a dispute late at night. The incident took place in front of the Ice Cube Restaurant on Mount Road, following an argument between customers and the bar management.

According to police sources, a guy had visited the bar along with a woman on May 18. During their visit, an argument reportedly broke out between the duo and the bar manager over an undisclosed issue. Following the altercation, the manager dialed the police emergency helpline 112 and sought assistance.

Acting on the call, Head Constable Shyam Chaudhary from Sadar Police Station, accompanied by colleague Kishore Baraikar, reached the spot to control the situation. However, the situation allegedly escalated after the woman started verbally abusing the police personnel.

Police said the woman shouted at Chaudhary demanding that a panchnama be conducted immediately. In the midst of the heated exchange, she allegedly caught hold of the constable’s collar and pushed him, creating chaos outside the premises and drawing the attention of onlookers.

Following the incident, Sadar Police registered a case against the woman for allegedly obstructing a government servant from discharging official duties and assaulting police personnel during the course of duty. Further investigation is underway.
