Tanishq Store at Nagpur’s VR Mall Targeted; Gold Bangle Worth ₹92,664 Stolen

Nagpur: A gold bangle worth ₹92,664 was allegedly stolen from the Tanishq jewellery store at VR Mall under the Imamwada police station limits on Wednesday afternoon.


According to police, a man, believed to be around 45 years old, entered the Tanishq showroom at about 4.30 pm and approached salesman Dipanshu Nilkanth Shende, stating that he wanted to buy a bracelet for his son.


The salesman informed him that children’s bracelets were not available at the store. However, the customer continued to remain inside the showroom for some time. Police said that when the salesman briefly went inside to drink water, the suspect allegedly opened a drawer and stole a gold bangle weighing 10.182 grams.


The stolen ornament has been valued at ₹92,664.


Following a complaint lodged by Anjan Yogesh Puri, a resident of Dalal Compound on Katol Road, the Imamwada police registered a case against an unidentified person under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and trace the accused.
